The current system was established in the standardized world of the Industrial Age when we needed all things to be standardized because we needed to create standardized graduates for standardized work. For a time when humans were the primary gatherers and holders of knowledge. Today, in the Age of AI we need just the opposite. AI has become the primary gatherers and holders of knowledge and now our system must create "human-centered" graduates who are prepared to solve problems and work with other humans to apply the knowledge AI has given us.
