"Having had the chance to work directly and indirectly with David over the past decade, I can confidently say he is one of the nation's leaders in transforming education to a learner-centered approach. David champions quality experiences for young people and works to put in place systemic changes that support those experiences. He's created eco-systems where those kinds of education models can thrive in Kentucky, and supported them in all sorts of contexts around the country and world. I can't recommend David enough as a catalytic leader to bring meaningful change to any educational organization."
“I have known David for almost 4 years and am continually impressed with his commitment to every learner and designing new ecosystems that put students at the center of their learning. David is an expert in fostering environments where students are at the forefront of their educational journeys. From local school to state-wide systems David has an uncanny ability to synergize communities to integrate systems to optimize student engagement, growth, and success. His commitment to student-centered learning and ecosystem design is truly exemplary and deserves recognition. I wholeheartedly recommend David without reservation.
I had the privilege of working with David Cook and learning from the Innovative Learning Network in Kentucky. David's dedication to fostering equitable and inclusive learning ecosystems was evident throughout our collaboration. What sets David apart is not just his vocal commitment to equity but the tangible impact it has had on his work. As an advocate for learning ecosystems, David Cook's influence extended beyond the borders of Kentucky. His thought leadership has been instrumental in shaping the broader conversation around education, contributing to the work of growing transformational ecosystems of learning.
“David Cook is an inspiring and collaborative leader with a bold vision for the future of education. David has a proven track record of driving innovation by centering students and communities. It’s been an honor to work with David, he is a thoughtful and dynamic partner.”

The path to real equity driven, sustainable learning ecosystems requires a radically inclusive, co-created LOCAL coalition of ALL stakeholders. This coalition must first decide WHY change is needed and what result does the community desire.
The steps in the transformation journey are like chapters in a book. The first chapter is the the engagement story. Getting to know the characters and their role in the story. That is followed by an exploration in chapters 2-3 of what the situation is and what might be occurring to change that situation. Then comes the story in Chapter 4. Almost all education transformation failures occur because the plan STARTS with Chapter 4.
PART OF THE WHY IS EACH LEARNER’S TRUTH
The single greatest surprise to school system leaders post-pandemic: How little their teachers KNEW their learners. Not their test scores, classroom behavior and work habits, but WHO their learners are. What is each learners TRUTH? Learner-centered, equitable systems aren't possible if you don't. Instruction must be designed based on learner’s TRUTH
